His priests praised Ifa.

Do you know that everything is because Awon washed your Ori in the river

EjiObara and the Pumpkins

There were 3 Awo that performed divination for Eji Obara

The vulture was bald not for fear of razor

Python, the diviner of Agbaale

The blacksmith does not want war removed from the Earth

The four of them regularly went to the home of Olofin to do the customary 9 day Ifa Consulation. EjiObara being the yongest among them.

When they went they all received food and drink. However, on this occassion, Olofin took 4 pumpkins, hollowed them out and filled them with riches. Then Esu came and rubbed his hands on the marks so that the pumpkins were made whole again.

Upon resting after divination, Olofin gives each of them a pumpkin. The 3 Elder Awo looked at the pumpkins confused at what they should do with them. So they each gave their pumpkins to Eji Obara.

EjiObara went home with all 4 pumpkins and asked his wife to use them to prepare dinner. She too said she didn't kow what to do with 4 pumpkins and thus refused.

Eventually Eji Obara was hungry and decided to prepare his own dinner. When he opened the pumpkins he discovered all of the riches hidden within.

By the time the next 9 day cycle came, Eji Obara was having a new home built, married a new wife, bought 2 new horses and became famous in the whole world.

He danced and praised his priests, his priested praised Ifa, and Esu put a song on his tongue to sing.

Olobara the Basket Weaver

Olobara consulted Ifa as to whether or not he would make it as a basket weaver. He was assured success and advised to give an ebo and warned to never play when he should be working. He headed the warning and wove 15 baskets before the market day. At the market he sould each basket for 10 cowries and came home with $150 cowries to pay off his debt. He repeated this process for another 6 days. He employed servants, bought horses, and became wealthy. He wanted to do the ebo again, but was told to simly praise his priests and his priested praised Ifa while Ifa praised God.

Akinleyin and Orunmilla

Akinleyin is the daughter of Obatala and is very beautiful. suitors continues come to ask for her hand, though her father has the final say. When Orunmilla proposed to her, he was told the same.

Orunmilla consulted Ifa to know how to marry Akinleyin. He as advised to give an ebo to his Ori. Then he was to give an ebo to Obatala. Orunmilla complied.

When Orunmilla went to give the offering of snails to Obatala, however he had to give them to Akinleyin to give to her father. Obatala was excited to receive the snails.

The next day Orunmilla went back to Obatala's house and received his blessing to marry Akinleyin.
