Alignment with Good Fortune – The Next 16 Days
Today, we were grateful to come together and receive the wisdom of Ifa that will carry us through the next sixteen days. During this period, we are seeing the Holy Odu Ifa Otuurupon Irosun in alignment with Good Fortune through Irosun Oyeku, and the primary blessing highlighted is Omo/Children—both literal and symbolic.
If you are reading this on the blog, what follows is a general summary of key verses and themes that emerged. The full and detailed breakdown is available exclusively to community members within the Temple Group online.
Ancestral Presence & Foundational Blessing
One of the strongest themes present in today’s divination is the active presence of the ancestors. We begin by acknowledging and thanking the ancestors for walking closely with us during this time.
Our Good Fortune is directly connected to the fulfillment of our potential, and through this fulfillment we see the closing of harmful or repeating cycles that may have caused stress, stagnation, or loss in the past.
Verse One: Peace Within Partnership
This verse speaks of a wife who consults divination and is advised that her husband may bring stress into her life. She is instructed to give an offering so that peace of mind, rather than conflict, governs the relationship.
The guidance here emphasizes:
proactive spiritual care
harmony over repeated conflict
tending to relationships before discord takes root
Verse Two: Marriage, Legacy, and Multiplication
In this verse, a man preparing for marriage receives assurance that:
he will have many children
his children will also have many children
his lineage will expand into abundant grandchildren
He is advised to give an offering, which he does, securing this blessing.
This verse highlights legacy, continuity, and obedience to guidance as pathways to lasting Good Fortune.
Verse Three: The Prince Who Endured
A prince seeks divination and is told plainly that he will suffer. He is instructed to give a sacrifice and to persevere.
He does so—and indeed experiences hardship and great difficulty. However, after a period of suffering, his circumstances transform. He begins to experience wealth, stability, and many forms of Good Fortune.
The people of his town, seeing his transformation, pray:
“May we be as pleased in life as the Crown Prince is.”
This verse asks us directly: Are you willing to endure temporary hardship in order to receive lasting Good Fortune?
Verse Four: Leadership That Secures Abundance
After the death of a king, divination determines that the eldest son will ascend to the throne. Once crowned, the new king seeks guidance on how to ensure prosperity for his people.
He is told:
the town will be filled with goodness
what enters the town will not be lost
an offering must be given
After the offering, he receives sacred medicine and is instructed to place it in the marketplace. Soon after, the town flourishes, and the people rejoice.
This verse emphasizes responsible leadership, spiritual preparation, and communal prosperity.
Verse Five: Destiny, Ancestry, and Right Order
Three figures seek divination:
the Elephant, who desires to become Chief Priest
the Buffalo, who wishes to assist the Chief Priest
Àpẹrẹ, the youngest, who chooses initiation
All three wish to benefit from their ancestry. The Elephant and Buffalo fixate on titles, while Àpẹrẹ asks that his inner head (Ori) guide him to the right position.
They are instructed to:
make sacrifices
remember and honor their family history
Àpẹrẹ follows the guidance fully and is initiated in the sacred forest.
On the day of installation, the kingmakers ask each candidate to recount their family history. The Elephant and Buffalo cannot do so. Àpẹrẹ speaks clearly and is installed as Chief Priest.
The Elephant leaves for the forest. The Buffalo leaves for the plains.Àpẹrẹ remains and takes charge at home.
This verse teaches that alignment with destiny and ancestral knowledge outweighs ambition or position.
