At the beginning of this month, on June 8th, we were blessed with the beginning of the Isese Lagba New Year accompanied by the Holy Odu Otuurupon Meji.
As things have been a little busy on my end, I haven't been able to do the summary like I did last year. However I am going to share the relevant verses with you and how I can support you in applying what has been shared.
This will include the verses and then overall commentary. Those of you who are in my online group for Tempe Otuurupon Gunda will also have the recording from our Egbe meeting.
The overall Ire that is included for us this year is Ire Aiku - Longevity/Long Life.
Key themes in this odu overall are knowledge, wisdom, and humility. We are reminded to avoid arrogance and that our Ori is supreme.
A note about knowledge and wisdom. When we gather data or are in our learning process, we are gathering information. It's information. Once we solidify the information by sitting with our elders or mentor, as well as we integrate the information, it is now knowledge. When we can apply the knowledge within our life, now we are cultivating wisdom.
Prosperity
Initial commentary
Appeasement of Ori and Ifa is very important for devotees throughout this year. Ifa says people should call upon their Ori for blessings and call upon Ifa to help appeal to their Ori. It is necessary to note that while Ifa can appeal to Ori, receiving blessings depends on one’s Ori. Ifa says people who are appeasing their Ori regularly will be receiving multiple blessings
Ifa says people should appease their Ese, Legs so that the legs always direct them to the right place. Ebo is needed to guide against any kind of problems with legs. These problems with Legs range from; experiencing a delay in getting to the spot of fortunes, leaving the spot before fortune arrives and experiencing accident.
It is very necessary to note that we need support from people to achieve greatness. We should look for people’s favor. It is necessary to maintain good relationship with our fellow human beings. Ifa says the fortunes we are looking for are with our fellow human beings. We must be friendly with people so that they release unto us the blessings and favors within their capacity.
Ifa says people should appreciate their benefactors. Spiritual children should refrain from abandoning their spiritual fathers and mothers. Ifa says, many people are experiencing difficulties because, they have forgotten their benefactors. People should retrace their steps and go back to the home where they were initiated. Also, people who are successful should remember the priests that were there for them when they were struggling. Ifa also says each home, shrine or temples should invite back their old priests who have not been seeing in the programs of such home, shrines or temples. Ifa says in some homes, shrines or temples where they are not recording success, they should know that somebody who was very resourceful to them has been forgotten. There is need for the presence of such person in their activities for success. Also, people who are advised for Ifa initiations should see this year as the best time.
Ifa says each person should appease Ifa with honey. And throughout the year, we should always add honey to the items whenever we want to appease Ifa. This is necessary because of the despisers who may want to backbite and blackmail them out of envy.
Additional Commentary from Oluwo and Iya
Consult of your head first and then go to Ifa
Ifa supports our Ori - This is the whole point of having our Isefa/Hand of Ifa
Regular appeasement and offerings should be made to our Ori
Regular and more consistent Ibori (Ori Ritual) should be done - Suggested Monthly
Our Ese (Legs) are how we get from place to place
A need to appease our Legs so that they take us to the right place
The health of our lower body, with special attention to our legs, is very significant this year
Walk, jog, stretch, soak you feet, etc.
How we are moving in our life is important
Be mindful of leaving places too soon, i.e. quitting or giving up too easily
If you had a good spiritual benefactor and elder and you left them, AND you have been struggling, you may need to go back to said Elder
Being grateful and appreciative to the ones that helped us along the way
A need to keep honey with our Ifa to ensure we maintain the sweetness in our lives
Several messages have been shared about receiving full initiation - this is NOT about making a bunch of people priests. This is about the covering of being an initiate within the tradition.
If it is not feasible or realistic for you to have ceremony this year, consider making steps to formalize your learning about the practice so that you are prepared when the time comes
Offerings - There are offerings associated with prosperity. Please reach out directly if you are interested.
If you want to know if initiation or Isefa is for you, feel free to book an Ikin divination so that we can confirm and discuss the best course of action for you.
How I'm supporting this Part
I'm going to be updating my Ori services to include a full Ibori. This will be available virtual and in person. If you are seeking for me to travel to you, I will advise options for that. I'll be offering some community as well.
Feet and Leg cleansings will also be added as an additional service.
I'll be starting a series on Ori. This will be featured on Patreon and available for all Patrons due to the importance of the topic.
If you would like any of the new services before I get my site updated, feel free to message me directly via the chat and we can set your session up directly.
