Itadogun April 28, 2025| Otura Odi

Greetings Everyone!

We are honored to have gathered in Fellowship to venerate the Orisha and receive the Wisdom of Ifa on the 28th. Apologies for the delay. Got my health back in order so we getting our rhythm back.

Ifa spoke to Temple Otuurupon Gunda through the Holy Odu Otura Odi. We see Ire through Okanran Meji. We are STILL not engaging in anything that tries to take us out of our peace. With the fans out, we are minding our business and staying calm and cool.

"You were successful in your attempt, but you were unsuccessful in your attack. We are still here."

Before I go into the direct messages for us. Our Oluwo cast Itadogun for Irentegbe Temple. This message actually aligns to us as well. I love how the messages go together.

Iwori Irete - Irentegbe Temple

Aboru aboye abosise Irentegbe Temple and aborisha family. Ifá has blessed us with the holy Odu Iwori-Irete. This Odu strongly suggests that those who have not undergone full initiation truly consider it as a possibility. It could be the asé that saves one.

Verse 1:

The Awos divined Ifá for Sàṣorẹ́ who was going to offer sacrifice to Ẹlẹ́wìí's orí. He would would offer prayers and say thus;

"Make it possible for me to see next year's celebration.

Do not allow me to witness bad things.

Let me find space to do things.

Do not let my children experience suffering.

Do not let anything happen to my wives.

Let me live long.

Let my ways be open.

Do not let my ways shut on me.

Shrubs would not close the way of any person that has a Cutlass.

Let the Kings and libido not fail him prematurely.

Let the barren dip her hand in Oṣun cream

Let the pregnant deliver safely."

Ẹlẹ́wìí would then call on Sàṣọ́rẹ́ to offer prayers. He would offer prayers for Ẹlẹ́wìí saying;

"Let things be good for Ẹlẹ́wìí.

Let him find money to spend

Let him find material things to use

But let life smile at me also.

Take me also to a good place."

Ẹlẹ́wìí was offended. He asked, "Look at this fool! Where is your Ori taking you? You want your Ori to take you somewhere, surely it will take you to a destination." Ẹlẹ́wìí then built a coffin and put Sàṣọ́rẹ́ into it. He nailed it shut and ordered that it be thrown into the river. I ask you to offer prayers for me. You were praying for yourself. What an insult!"

Meanwhile, the people of Benin were looking to install a new king. The previous King had died and they went to consult Ifá. They were advised to proceed to the riverbank where they would see something worthy of note and they were told they should bring it home. The person connected with the thing would be the next king. After 7 days, deja the coffin being washed down the river in the currents. They pulled it out and opened it to find a human being inside. They carried him in dancing and rejoicing. They were singing and chanting;

"We have our Elder today

Jòǹto, we have an elder

We have our Elder today

Jòǹto, we have an elder."

Sàṣọ́ré Said he was in trouble but they asked him which trouble is this again? They carried him straight to the king's seat and installed him as their King.

After installation, smaller Kings would pay homage to the new king as they were under his jurisdiction.

Amongst the smaller kings who had arrived to pay homage was Ẹlẹ́wìí. He saw Sàṣọ́rẹ́ seated with the crown placed on his head and all the other king's, prostrating and venerating.

"May you be strong. May you be strong"

Sàṣọ́ré was responding, "Go and sit down."

Elẹ́wìí was shivering. "The person I instructed to be tied inside a nailed coffin and dropped into the river is the same person on the throne."

On the second day, after everyone had eaten and had fun, Sàṣọ́rẹ́ called on Ẹlẹ́wìí.

"Do you recognize me?"

"Káábíèsí, I don't know you," he replied, perspiring.

"Are you sure you don't know me? If you deny knowing me, you have not caused me any havoc. If you did not behave the way you did, I would not be here on this seat. On the other hand, if you confirm knowing me, I will not repay you in your coins."

Sàṣọ́rẹ́ then started to dance and rejoice. He was praising his priests as the priests were praising Ifá.

Ori, Look for somewhere good to take me. My legs, look for somewhere good to guide me. Where is my Ori taking me, I do not know.

He that Ẹlẹ́wìí caused great havoc,

That he shoved inside a coffin,

That he threw into a river,

Can we see now?

Sàṣọ́rẹ́ became elevated.

Can we now see the turn of Destiny?

Verse 2:

Initiate them carefully, initiate them carefully so that the people of the world might not misbehave. Anyone who does good, does it for themselves. Anyone who does evil, does it for themselves. This was the Ifá divined for the world. You thieves must refrain from stealing. They said they could not abstain from stealing. Anyone who steals will be treated with ridicule. Anyone who steals a thousand will lose two thousand in life. Anyone who sees a beggar should give him alms. Anyone who does a thousand Good deeds will reap two thousand.

Oòduà Aterígbeji, my lord, shall receive Good deeds. They were advised to offer ẹbo. They complied.

Otura Odi- Our Direct Message

Let me begin with some commentary from downloads I got -

Protection via connection to Ifa

This isn't about titles, you are not ready to be Awo. You need to have the covering. I heard armour of God.

Annual Festivals

Annual festivals are commo traditions in multiple practices. If you are not an Onifa, Olorisha, Iya/Babalorisa, or Iyanifa/Babalawo; what festivals should you still be doing.

You all have Ori and Egun. Celebrating your Ori is easy. It's your Birthday. I would personally suggest that even those with Ile Ori hold two. That's just a person though.

Note - Don't forget to give prayers to your Ori daily and offerings every 4 days.

An annual celebration of your Ancestors, If you don't know when to do it, here are two suggestions.

  • My lineage does our celebration the same week as Dia De Los Muertos. Here in the Diaspora the energy is rife for Ancestor Veneration.

  • Thanksgiving. Family is generally already together in a spirit of gratitude.

Note - Don't forget to give prayers to your Egun daily and offerings every 4 days.

Red Flags - Those that are running towards titles and ceremonies, don't stay.

"I need this" "I need that" "What about this ceremony" What abut that Orisa"

Why are you seeking this out. The journey of Ifa, specifically through Isese, is a journey of Self. All of this is to lead you back to who you are. The divinities are supporting your Ori in aligning you to a good life.

All the ceremonies will be confirmed for you.

All the tools will be confirmed for you.

Be patient. Your time will come. If the download about you needing this or that doesn't come with a warning, let it be confirmed. It's not that you won't get a heads up. You will. You just don't need to ask about each and every instant when you are still learning who you are. The ceremonies are to help you align to who you are.

Learn. BE A STUDENT. Enjoy the majesty of Self Love and how it empowers and informs your connection to the Divine. Then, when it is time, the ceremony will be so in alignment for you that it will all make perfect sense.

Itans - What do you hear Ifa saying to us as a Collective?

Ancestors learned the trap so that we could avoid them. Modupe O Egun!

Divination is done for Orunmilla's son Lade who had a dream with a negative sign in it. I the dream his father warns him of outings. When he consulted Ifa he was told that there was a pit dug for him ad he needed to give an offering to avoid it. He was also told to give an offering to Osun and use it as a walking stick whenever he went out just like his father. Lade complies.

Olofin has called Lade to come to divine for him. As Lade is getting ready he hears Orunmilla calling out to him to use his Osun Staff to feel the ground before stepping onto a space that has already been setup. Ade listened.

When he gets to Olofin everything is setup. Lade uses he staff to feel the ground and notices the holes. He then tells Olofin to sit first. Olofin, realizing the jig is up, begins to apologize profusely. He was jealous of Lade and had set this trap for him. He begins to offer all manner of wealth to Lade for his transgression.

Note - Does this scenario sound familiar? Irentegbe had the prequel to this one last cycle.

It doesn't matter what everyone else is doing, do what you need to bring in your good fortune.

The King invited all the drums to audition to become leader of all drums. They all heard and consulted Ifa to know how to be successful. They were advised to give ebo of a cloth and rooster.

The drums were so confident they ignored the ebo. They were all sure they could out do the others. All except the Bata. Bata complied with the Ebo.

With Ebo completed, Esu springs into action. He gives the cloth back to Bata to put on his head. The Esu causes a torrential rain fall during the selection gathering. Everyone is there. All the drums are getting wet. The King is eager to begin but the rain seems to just go on. Eventually the rain stops. The King is pleased and calls all the drums up to sing and dance. Each one has his turn, but the sound is muffled. You can barely hear them. Then steps up Bata who begins to sing and dance. His voice crisp. Moves fluid. It was a joyful sound that moved everyone to get up and dance, including the King. The King thus makes Bata King of the drums.
