Alaafia Everyone - Here is the summary of the messages received for this Itadogun. For those that were not present, now that we are officially within the egbe with Irentegbe Temple, I will be casting our community divination on Isan (second Ose Ola/ Ose ifa after Itadogun).
Oluwo will be casting for Itadogun for both communities. Posts will still give you all the deets. Just wanted you all to be aware of the change.
So I will be casting on August 10, that afternoon sometime when I'm back stationary.
Aboru aboye abosise Irentegbe Temple and aborisha family. We are seeing the holy Odú Obara-Okanran in today's Itadogun casting. We are being advised that we are going to sacrifice an aspect of our ego.
Verse 1:
The Àwọs Divine for the Tiger and divine a forest bird, Enlọ́jọ.
The tiger consulted Ifá To know if his meals would never be scarce. They said he would always have a meal available and he would even become a terror onto other animals. Whatever animal he caught would never escape. He was advised to offer ẹbo, he complied. He was never short of food, especially as he fed on animals and birds.
Then Enlọ́jọ bird went for ifá consultation. He wanted to know how he could escape being killed by the tiger. He was advised to offer ẹbo. He also complied. Now, whenever the tiger tried to catch a bird, it would fly to the top of a tree and the tiger would not be able to kill it. They started saying that a tiger looked at a bird perched on the tree in vain.
Verse 2:
The parrot had gone to consult Ifá. He wanted to know how he could avoid becoming the subject of wrath of all other birds. He was advised to offer ebo. The priest told him that he was stuck in Old preconceived ideas on how things should go. He was advised that reality is different from his own ideas. "Offer the sacrifice so that people may not turn away from you. And do not turn your back in anger when you are told how things truly are." The priest told him, " if you are not a Smith, do not try to shape metal, and if you cannot write, you should not tell a writer how to shape his letters. The parrot heeded the words of the priest. It was exactly as the priest had said. He was dancing and praising the Babalawo and the Babalawo was praising ifá as ifá was praising God.
