Alaafia Everyone. Ekaaro O!
I hope this finds everyone well. If you've been coming to veneration, you know that I have been openly honest about fighting off my functional depression.
I will have those moments but I'll ignore it and keep on going, then get to a point where I have to feel the feelings so I can truly let them go. I'm a Cancer Rising Aquarius, I acknowledge and accept this is a journey and I'm still on it.
I'm grateful for Ifa because that is what helps me move through these moments. Bravery and Wisdom are being asked of me.
Once I allowed the armor to fall away and the tears to flow, clarity began to come back into view. Sometimes you need the tears to wash away the gunk so you can see clearly. The inspiration I receive came while talking to a friend. It was to embody my Orisha, specifically Esu.
I know I hadn't shared widely which new Orisha that I have received in initiation, but Esu is one of them. How do I as Omo Esu, one of his Priests, need to embody him.
Without sharing what I am doing personally, I will share some general thoughts about Esu.
Owner of the crossroads
Owner of the doorways
Holder of the keys to all doors
Divine Messenger
Spirit of Discernment
Olodumare's Right Hand
Carrier of Offerings
Approver of Ire
Owner of Ase
Infinite one
Can fit snugly in a walnut, but is so big he has to throw his head outside the doorway
Can throw a rock today that hit something yesterday
A paradox and contradiction
Wise Teacher
Young Child and Wise Elder
Orisha, Egun, and Immortal
Polyglot
Esu is many things.
When I first got home from my first initiation, one of my first personal Dafa indicated I need to initiate as Esu. My GodMother later confirmed the accuracy of the message. It would be a couple years before I finally sat at the mat and unlocked the door in me where Esu resides.
Now that the flow of Ase from Esu is more direct, How am I to move differently? What blessings does his Ase bring to me? What responsibilities? How is he trying to help me live my favorite destiny.
Esu is one of my Orisha. There was a prenatal choice to cultivate a deeply personal relationship with Esu in a direct connection.
I am grateful for the reminder of the support and Ase I have access to within me.
