Public·26 Devotees

Alaafia everyone! Here are the notes from this evening's wonderful ijoson. June 1st marked the new year 10, 066 according to the Yoruba calendar and the odu for the world has been cast. IIe Ife(birth place of Ifa and orisha tradition) is currently celebrating and we will hear more about this divination and what it holds soon.

Here are the messages from Iya Owinni and Baba Teju - We're currently under Otrua Ogbe - mystical transformation leads to open roads and alignment with your destiny. Obatala's presence is distinct in both areas of the odu so remaining cool and calm is important over this time period. Otrua Ogbe emphasizes ori and ancestor work as well as veneration. Honor your ancestors and ori for all you have accomplished and come through, as well as for the blessings coming to you.

In addition to prayers, add ebo to your ori as a regular part of your prayer cycle. When you're at peace that's when you can hear spirit most. Be mindful of arrogance, it can sneak up on you when you're in the flow. Mantain your personal boundaries and move in silence. This odu warns you to be mindful of the company you keep.

Baba Teju reminded us about the 2022 odu which talked about the numbers of orisha devotees climbing- we are living that today. There have never been more orisha devotees at any other time period than now. This is a time for us to be proud of our faith and to be examples of the principles. Ifa is a religion and we don't have to hide who we are or what we believe in. Ifa also predicted COVID in 2019 when a similar odu was cast. The message then was I am because we are - to thrive we have to remember that we are a collective.

Baba Teju shared a pataki about ori and iku(death) Ori was able to outwit death because they followed ifa's instructions and performed ebo. The ebo resulted in ori constantly being on the move after their baby chickens. Because ori was fulfilling their mission, death couldn't touch them. Don't leave things half finished, find your mission and work to complete it during your time on earth. Staying busy and aligned keeps death at bay.

Be smart, be on the look out for opportunities that benefit and support you, moving towards positive things keeps the negative further away from you and allows you to hold on to your blessings. There is a ritual where over 16 days you can burn a white candle at the front of your home (welcome in positivity) and burn a red candle at the back of your home( move out negativity) When it rains allow yourself to get wet. This shows your appreciation to Shango and Oya who bring storms that allow for life to grow on earth.

Taboos and Ebos

The official taboos will be revealed soon but right now, no Black or red on your head (or at all) no cursing

No ebos at this time

Wishing us all ire!
