So from time to time I ask Ifa questions that are for me but pertinent to the collective. I had been mulling over this one for a minute and finally asked this weekend.
I specifically asked for Wisdom from Ifa regarding the upcoming presidential election here in the United States and what I should know.
Ifa revealed for me the Holy Odu Osa Meji.
Now for my non Orisha practicing folks an Odu is like a set of scriptures from the Holy Word in the Orisha traditions. There are stories, metaphysical principles, parables, proverbs, etc. Mejis are the building blocks of the scripture and to get one is very significant.
If you are familiar with tarot it likes getting a Major Arcana.
There are 16 of the 256 possible combinations that are Meji. Only 16.
Also - In case someone wonders, yes I used Ikin to cast.
Ok so each Odu has a positive and negative, or aligned to good fortune and not aligned to good fortune, manifestation. So I confirend Ire (good fortune) through Ose Meji.

Why am I sharing? So many of my people are afraid, concerned, nervous, and the like. Also -I'm not super into politics truthfully. However, I know elections are important overall and THIS ONE is major.
Also, I want people to know that Ifa has something to say in times like this for us in the Diaspora as well. It's not just Black Christians praying and asking, Orisha practitioners are as well.
So back to the Odu. Osa and Ose both resounding calls to the Divine Feminine. OSA being associated with Oya. Ose being associated with Oshun. Osa speaks of bring the Iyaami, The Wise Mothers, to Earth. Oshun being CHIEF of the Iyaami.
Not a coincidence considering messages we have gotten in channeling sessions.
Osa is a tornado. It is radical external change that seems beyond your control. However, in Ire, you are the catalyst of this change. You are in the calm of the storm. This Odu brings in a radical change in circumstances. Shapeshifting from hunted to hunter.
Change is coming. Reminds us to face our problems and not run away from them.
This Odu gives power and authority to women. It comes with warnings against being disrespectful to women and elders.

Just really quick about Ose since that is the Odu bringing in good fortune. Both Osa and Ose bring abundance and children. Ose is abundance you get when you effectively use the Power of the Word. Meaning how are you speaking about over your life.
