There is an Ifá proverb that says "People cover one better than clothes." This comes from a story about when other priests had become jealous of Orunmila and set out to defame him. They spread many lies and rumors about him. But, when the rumors reached the ears of those who he had touched, everything that was said fell flat. The people immediately knew what was being said about him was untrue. They each began to recount a time when he had helped them. They each spoke of the good work he had done. Orunmila had done so much good in the world that those speaking ill of him in turn became the ones who were defamed.

What does your work say about you? Let us move forward in the world in such a way that our good works speak for us. May we be of such good character that those who would attempt to destroy our names would immediately be identified as liars.
