Here is the full Itadogun breakdown

Owonrin S’Ogbe

Owonrin S'Ogbe was the Odu cast for Itadogun over the weekend while I was at the Odunfa for Oloye Obafemi. Since I was present, the messages and blessings from this Odu will also be shared with you all.

There are 2 primary Itans that were spoke during the divination.

Itan 1

Orunmilla and his 200 roosters were traveling to a village he had never been to. Upon arrival, he and his roosters stop at a grove so they can graze and eat. While resting, someone sees Orunmilla and let’s the authorities know a stranger is in the Sacred Grove. Orunmilla is brought to the King and they advised him that he broke the law. He indicates that he’s knew and had no idea. The King states, rules are rules, and proceeds to take the Roosters as the fine.

Some time later Orunmilla is coming home and there are 400 sheep in his home. They’ve made mess and even knocked over his Ikin. The King arrives and Orunmilla tells him that they have violated a severe taboo with his Ikin. He lets them know that the 400 sheep + the 4 sheep herders are now his. There were 2 men and 2 women. He took the two women as wives and the 2 men as servants.

Itan 2

Orunmilla and Obatala each receive a sacred Kola Nut. This Kola Nut is special. Obatala decides to eat his. Orunmilla plants his. It starts to grow quickly and he wants to protect it. He asks to borrow a planter with two openings from Obatala. After awhile Obatala learns that the Kola Nut is growing and producing fruit. When he goes to see Orunmilla, he see his planter and realize it is protecting the Bush. He tells Orunmilla to give it back whole. Orunmilla is like, “How”. So they see the king and the King asks if Orunmilla paid for the planter. He says no and the King awards it to Obatala so he has to cut his bush down.

Some time later, Orunmilla has made a protection amulet that is on Obatala’s arm. He wears it all the time and it’s now too tight to even move. Orunmilla comes to Obatala and tells him he not only wants it back, he wants it back whole. Obatala is like, “How Sway? I’d have to cut off my arm.” They visit the King and the King asks Obatala did he pay for the amulet. He says know. The King calls for his guard who cuts off Obatala’s arm.

Itan 2

About the dog who wanted to receive the love of humans. Consider what dogs represent: unconditional love, loyalty, companionship, protection

The dog gives the ebo and sings everyday about the blessing.

Keep in mind the love dogs give human is not always returned. Dogs sometimes take loads of abuse.

Also consider this may be someone coming to you with the traits of the dog, be mindful of how you treat them.

Itan 3

God consulted Ifa over how anything can be possible and to be immortal. He gave an ebo of black, red, and white cloth; as well as a goat and money. One day the heavens went dark and Baba Mole cries thinking God is dead. The Priest that divined for God says, “Nah, God is just doing what God does.”

·         Is God you?

·         Anything possible? Manifest and co-create

·         Immortality – Longevity

·         God’s relationship with other deities – Delegation and support

·         God does what God does and still consults for Wisdom

Itan 4

Adesope, wife of Orunmilla who doesn’t want to be married to Ifa anymore. She runs to 2 hoses. Orunmilla consults Ifa to see where she is and goes to the first house. Alara basically talks trash to him, so Orunmilla curses him. His wife runs to the second house, and he follows. He gets there and Ajero does the same thing, gaining the same result. So his wife runs off again and ends up at Esu’s palace. Orunmilla gets to Esu and Esu directs him to where his wife is and makes a request. He asks Orunmilla to take her back. Orunmilla agrees but charges her a fine.
